Jason and his young apprentice were both extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job replacing my broken water heater and fixing the loud knocking noise coming from my shower. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and got everything fixed at a reasonable price. I'm so excited to finally enjoy a nice hot shower tonight! I'll definitely be using them again for future repairs and projects. Thank you!

Types of Water Heaters We Install
There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to water heaters. We install:
- Standard Tank Water Heaters – Affordable and reliable for most households. Available in gas or electric.
- Tankless Water Heaters – On-demand hot water and energy savings for homes with higher usage or efficiency goals.
- Hybrid Water Heaters – A smart combination of heat pump technology and traditional tank design.
- High-Efficiency & Energy Star Models – Reduce energy consumption and qualify for potential rebates.
We partner with trusted brands like Rheem, A.O. Smith, Bradford White, State, and others to ensure long-lasting performance and warranty coverage.
Sizing Your New Water Heater
For a tank heater, start with the household, not the old tank:
- 1–2 people: 30–40 gallons
- 2–3 people: 40–50 gallons
- 3–4 people: 50 gallons
- 4–5 people: 50–65 gallons
- 5 or more: 65–80 gallons
Headcount is only half of it. What really decides the size is how much hot water runs at the same time — two morning showers, a load of laundry, and the dishwasher all at once is what a tank has to survive. That peak is what a heater's first-hour rating measures: how much hot water it can deliver in its busiest hour.
Tankless heaters are sized a different way: by flow, not gallons. Add up what runs together — a shower uses about 2 gallons a minute, a kitchen faucet about 1.5 — and the unit has to keep up with that total while it heats. Tampa Bay helps here: our groundwater is warm, so a tankless unit doesn't have to lift the temperature as far, and it delivers closer to its rated flow than the same unit would up north.
We size it with you before we quote, so the firm written quote is for the right heater — not a guess.
How Our Installation Process Works
We make it easy to get your new water heater installed with a seamless, step-by-step process:
- Initial Consultation & Quote – We assess your space, usage, and hot water needs to recommend the ideal unit.
- Old Unit Removal (if needed) – Safe disconnection and haul-away of your current system.
- New System Installation – We handle plumbing, electrical, gas line hookups, and local code compliance.
- Startup & Safety Testing – We test temperature, pressure relief valves, and water flow to ensure everything's working perfectly.
- Cleanup & Customer Walkthrough – We leave your space clean and walk you through the system's features and maintenance basics.
Permit requirements for a water heater replacement vary by jurisdiction. Where a permit is required, we pull it and handle the inspection. Either way, every install is done to code — expansion tank, T&P relief, and pan and drain where the installation calls for them.
How to Know You Need a New Water Heater
Sometimes it's obvious — other times, it sneaks up on you. Here are signs your current unit may need replacement:
- Your water heater is more than 10–12 years old
- You've had to repair it more than once in the last year
- Rust or sediment is coming out with your hot water
- It takes too long to heat water — or runs out too fast
- The tank is leaking or showing signs of corrosion
- You want to upgrade to a more energy-efficient system
The cost test says the same thing in dollars: when a repair quote comes to a large share of a new unit's price (most replacements land between $1,848 and $3,290 when we supply the heater), replacement is usually the smarter money. If your heater is younger and the repair is small, we will say repair it instead: Water Heater Repair
We'll always give you an honest recommendation — even if repair is still an option.

Tankless Change-Outs, Done Right
Swapping a tankless heater sounds simple — old unit off the wall, new unit on. The swap is the easy part; the connections around it decide the job. Here is how we run one:
- Isolation and descaling valves go on first. Before the new unit is hung, it gets a valve kit that lets it be shut off from the house's water on both sides and descaled in place during routine maintenance — service access built in at install time, not discovered years later.
- The gas gets hard-piped. We run rigid pipe instead of reconnecting a flexible connector — a permanent gas run, laid out properly, with a fresh shut-off valve. On older installs the old fittings are often seized solid; cutting them out and starting clean is normal, not a problem.
- Both sides get leak-tested before first fire. Water on first, every connection checked under full pressure. Then gas on, and the gas piping tested. Only when both sides pass does the unit get powered up, programmed, and fired.

Warranty
Your new water heater carries an extended warranty ranging from 2 to 10 years, depending on the equipment and package — the manufacturer's warranty on the heater, backed by our workmanship. The exact warranty for your job is stated on your invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I consider water heater installation instead of repair?
If your water heater is more than 8 to 12 years old, requires frequent repairs, produces rust-colored water, or shows signs of tank corrosion, replacement may be the more cost-effective long-term option. We provide professional water heater installation tailored to your household's needs.
What does a new water heater cost?
When we supply the heater, most replacements land between $1,848 and $3,290 — based on 137 jobs we've actually done. When you supply the heater, most installs land between $750 and $1,250 — based on 10 jobs we've actually done. You get a firm written quote before we start.
Can I buy my own tankless water heater and have you install it?
Yes. The change-out in this video was exactly that — the homeowner had already purchased the new unit, and our crew handled the removal, the gas and water reconfiguration, and the install. One thing to know going in: even with the unit supplied, the connections around it may need work, like the seized gas connector we had to cut on this job.
Do I need a permit for a water heater replacement?
Permit requirements for a water heater replacement vary by jurisdiction. Where a permit is required, we pull it and handle the inspection. Either way, every install is done to code — expansion tank, T&P relief, and pan and drain where the installation calls for them.
What are isolation/descaling valves, and why install them?
They're a valve kit fitted to the new unit before it goes on the wall. The isolation valves let the heater be shut off from the house's water on both sides, and the service ports are what allow the unit to be descaled in place as part of routine maintenance. Installing them during the change-out means future service is straightforward instead of a teardown.
How do you make sure the new heater is safe to run?
By testing before firing. We turn the water on and check every connection under full pressure, then turn the gas on and test the gas piping for leaks. The unit only gets powered up, programmed, and fired after both sides pass. On this job, everything tested clean — no leaks on water or gas.
